WATCH: All the trailers from EA’s E3 2017 Press Conference
From Battlefield 1 to Star Wars Battlefront II, here are all of Electronic Art’s new content and upcoming IPs revealed at E32017.
Electronic Arts start the festivities of the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year with their press conference held earlier today, Philippine time, showcasing many of their new content for their existing games and as well as teasing 2 new video games that they will be publishing.
Starting off with Battlefield 1, EA unveils a new “extensive update” which will bring players to the Eastern Front of World War I that includes new characters, weapons, and maps based on the Russian military campaign with historic military units such as the Women’s Battalion of Death and the Hussars. The update, which is named “In the Name of the Tsar” will be out for release this September for Battlefield Premium Pass owners although a premium trial will be made available to all players who wish to try out the maps for a limited time.
New updates are also made for the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront II including a new gameplay trailer featuring one of the Star Wars saga’s most iconic villains, Darth Maul, in action, together with other iconic characters such as Chewbacca, Boba Fett, and Jedi Master Yoda, together with newer characters, Rey and Kylo Ren. Together with the new gameplay trailer reveal, EA also announced that they will be adding more vehicles, classes, troopers, and power-ups, among other things for the game and promises that Battlefront II will have far more when it comes to content in contrast to its predecessor which will allow players to “play for years to come”.
Aside from Battlefront II, another upcoming game from EA, Need for Speed: Payback also gets a new and action-packed gameplay trailer which somehow ditches the whole street racing in favor of what looks like a heist, kinda similar to Fast 5, which also breathes a fresh new air into a series that was once purely about street racing and pimpin’ yo’ ride.
The Madden NFL series by EA Sports will also be receiving a breath of fresh air with the introduction of Longshot, the new story mode for Madden 18 wherein you play as Devin Wade, an aspiring American Football player, on his journey towards landing his spot on a team on NFL Draft Day.
Together with Madden 18, EA’s other Sports title, NBA Live will also be getting a new career mode for its NBA Live 18 installment called “The One” which is briefly described as a new and dynamic way to play your career on NBA Live, both in the NBA league and on Street Basketball!
Apart from showcasing their already known additions to their existing franchises, EA also unveils 2 new IPs in the works starting with the coop multiplayer A Way Out, which lets you and 1 other player, be it your friend that plays with you at home or a buddy online, break out from a prison using cooperative tactics and split screen so you could see each other’s perspectives. The game’s overall concept and gameplay variety does look promising, although we’ll see if it can live up to the hype that it already created in the coming months as it is planned for release early next year.
And lastly, another new IP is also unveiled by EA, this time, by way of BioWare, creators of the Mass Effect series, titled Anthem, which we assume is a Sci-Fi open-world action title packed with mechanized suits, defensive walls and huge monsters. EA only went as far as revealing a teaser for their new title though but promised that more announcements will be made during Microsoft’s E3 Press Con happening early tomorrow.
