Ninjas in Pyjamas drop their Dota 2 roster, wants to focus more on CS:GO and LoL
And NiP’s Dota 2 run comes to an end.
From what was once deemed as one of the most promising teams in Dota 2’s most contested region, Europe, the Dota 2 team of Ninjas in Pyjamas was let go of their organization presumably due to the lack of significant achievements within its 2-year run.
In a brief announcement over at the NiP website, the management states that despite “showing great progress and results” during their first few months, the team’s most recent runs proved to be below the management’s high expectations, as they once said that they were planning to build an “eSport powerhouse based in the Nordic [region of Europe]“. Although they have dropped their Dota 2 team, NiP will not be ceasing their Esports activities anytime soon as they also announce that they will return to their core focus, that being Counter Strike Global Offensive, and as well as allocating proper time for their new League of Legends venture.
Part of NiP‘s achievements in Dota 2 include wins in minor and premiere tournaments such as in the JoinDOTA MLG Pro League, Alienware Area 51 Dota 2 Cup, Esport SM 2015, and the Esportal Dota 2 League Invitational Tournament, the team was also once home to some of Europe’s popular Dota 2 pros, such as Adrian “Era” Kryeziu.
