Newbee defeats NP 3-1 to win ZOTAC Masters Cup championship title
The battle for 2nd place at the ZOTAC Cup Masters concludes with a clear winner.
Chinese team Newbee has managed to secure their first LAN victory outside of China this year after winning in the recently concluded ZOTAC Cup Masters held at the ongoing COMPUTEX 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan after defeating Western team Team NP 3-1 in their Best of 5 grand final.
Displaying their well-honed discipline and the carrying prowess of their cores, particularly Sccc and Moogy, the Chinese squad was able to pile up on the lead during their winning games against team NP, although NP‘s main cores, FATA- and EternalEnvy did refuse to go down without a proper fight, dragging most games beyond the 30-minute mark or towards the late game phase with the heavily contested final match of the day reaching 72 minutes.
Both Team NP and Newbee were the only ones to have participated in the ZOTAC Masters Cup through direct invites with the rest of the participants winning their slots via regional qualifiers. With their win, Newbee will be taking home USD 50,000 and will continue to solidify their top rank amongst China’s other top teams, which will them presumably lead to a direct invite to TI as the region’s representative.
