Because of course you can.

Following the new found tradition of bringing Esports viewing into traditional media forms such as the Television, and of course being one of the major media partners, TV5 will be doing a live telecast of the grand finals match of the upcoming Manila Masters, next Sunday, May 28, on their Aksyon TV sub-channel. Having already televised other premiere Esports tournaments such as the Manila Major, ESL One Manila, The International Dota 2 Championships, and even the League of Legends World Championships, TV5 is no greenhorn when it comes to Esports as it even launched its own online gaming channel, named GG Network back in 2015.

The Manila Masters, the Philippines 3rd prestige pro Dota 2 event, following the success of the first 2, ESL One Manila and the Manila Major back in 2016, will feature 8 of top tier teams competing for the lion’s share of the USD 250,000 prize pool. With 6 directly invited teams, namely Evil GeniusesOG Dota 2NewbeeInvictus GamingTeam Secret, and Team NP, together with the 2 winners of the qualifying events, Team Faceless from the SEA qualifier and Clutch Gamers from the Philippines qualifier, the tournament hopes to create a new brand of pro Dota 2 tournament series, The Masters, and was conceived with the partnership of tournament organizers ESL and Mineski.

While the overall tournament format is still yet to be determined, the Manila Masters will hold its main event in the SM Mall of Asia Arena this coming May 26 to 28, 2017. As stated, together with the online broadcasts will be the televised live broadcast of the main event during the final day of the tournament. Access to Aksyon TV is available both in UHF free TV, via Channel 41 in Metro Manila, and Channel 29 in Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao, and on Cable on Channel 59 on SkyCable; Channel 78 on Destiny Cable; and Channel 1 on CIGNAL Digital TV.
