Tilted chairs and broken monitors for Manila Masters Day 1 as EternalEnvy’s NP faces Puppey’s Secret in Redemption Rounds
Will the score be finally settled here in Manila?
The newfound and controversial feud between former team mates Celement “Puppey” Ivanov and Jacky “EternalEnvy” Mao will look to be settled here in the Manila as Team Secret and Team NP face off in Round 1 of the Manila Masters Redemption Rounds for another chance to still stay in the tournament as both teams have been sent to the Lower Bracket following the results of Day 0.
Secret first went up against the Chinse powerhouse Newbee where they lost 1-2 in the Upper Bracket quarterfinals after outstanding performances from Newbee‘s core players, Xu “moggy” Han and Song “sccc” Chun. Team NP on the other hand also had an uphill climb of their own in the UB quarterfinals but ultimately found themselves losing to the 4-time major champion OG 1-2.
Puppey and EternalEnvy have both been teammates at one point in their Dota 2 careers after the latter became part of Team Secret where both of them won the Shanghai Major back in 2016, however, things turned sour for both players after a lengthy revelation from EE cited numerous questionable and problematic concerns regarding how Puppey has handled Team Secret particularly when it comes to the distribution of winnings and player salaries.
Team NP and Secret will be facing each other off in the second wave of today’s matches with the winner to face team Invictus Gaming and the loser to be eliminated from the tournament.
