Evil Geniuses to have rematch with Newbee as they eliminate Team NP in the Lower Bracket Finals
No comeback from the Anime Squad as they fall to the Boys in Blue in the Loser’s Bracket Finals.
Evil Geniuses will find themselves at the Garand Finals of another LAN once again as a 2-1 victory against Team NP secure their rematch against Newbee in the Manila Masters finals.
Albeit they have lost to NP during Game 1 after an Ember Spirit draft for Eternal Envy backed by FATA-‘s Queen of Pain, as EG fails to find their steady footing with the Weaver pick for RTZ and Suma1L‘s Death Prophet, team #BleedBlue bounces back during a lengthy game 2, bringing in their big guns, the Storm Spirit for Suma1L and Universe‘s Legion Commander, topped by RTZ‘s Juggernaut against the Bristleback pick for EE, and FATA- this time on his Ember Spirit with MSS on the Legion Commander. Although EG did almost end up falling to NP‘s early game assault, the North American squad held steadfast, surviving every fight thanks to Cr1t‘s Phoenix Supernova, which results in NP‘s formations to break apart and having their heroes isolated making Universe easily hold down his targets.
After tying the series 1-1, EG proceeds to dominate Game 2, bringing in more iconic picks; Suma1L‘s Puck, and Universe‘s Faceless Void, with NP trying to counter using the Bristleback, this time on FATA-, with EE on the Luna. As EG picks NP apart during the laning phase, EE and co fail to find their needed farming space with EG‘s continuous assault on their lanes and then the towers, ultimately resulting in a final fight where RTZ, who was playing the Razor, Suma1L and Universe making the big things happen for EG as they win the series 2-1 and head to the finals to face Newbee.
