ZOTAC announces the USD 100,000 ZOTAC Cup Masters Dota 2 Tournament

A grand Dota 2 LAN comes to Computex Taipei this May.

Computer hardware manufacturer, best known for their GPU iterations and Mini PCs, ZOTAC, has just recently unveiled their newest Esports venture, a USD 100,000 prize pool event titles the ZOTAC Cup Masters.

Inviting teams from 6 different competitive regions, the ZOTA Cup Masters Dota 2 tournament will have players from Asia, China, Europe, North America and South America compete for the lion’s share of the USD 100,000 prize pool in the grand finals that will happen this coming May 30 to June 3, 2017, at the Nangnang Convention Center, Taipei, Taiwan, with the winners to also be invited to the ZOTAC Anniversary event for a Dota 2 Invitational happening later this year in China.

Registrations for the tournament will be done via BattleFy with the first qualifier for Europe to commence this coming March 12, 2:00 PM GMT. The rest of the qualifier schedules and respective slots for each of the participating regions will be as follows:

  • Europe #1 – March 12, 2017
  • Europe #2 – April 9, 2017
  • Americas (North/South) – March 26, 2017
  • Asia #1 – March 19, 2017
  • Asia #2 – April 16, 2017
  • China – TBA

As there are only the regional qualifiers only grant 6 slots, ZOTAC will be inviting 2 teams to complete the 8-team roster for the Finals happening this May 30, 2017.

ZOTAC Cup Masters Dota 2 Tournament Prize Pool Breakdown

  • Champion – USD 50,000
  • 2nd Place – USD 20,000
  • 3rd – 4th Place – USD 7,000
  • 5th – 6th Place -USD 5,000
  • 7th – 8th Place – USD 3,000

The Qualifier Regional finals and as well as the main event will be broadcast live in English via Twitch. The ZOTAC Cup Masters is presumed to be part of the celebration for the 10th year of the ZOTAC Cup, which is ZOTAC’s very own series of competitive events for different Esports titles such as Dota 2, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and even League of Legends.
