After is successful first run which concluded earlier this year, the World Electronic Sports Games, a multi-title, world cup style Esports event, may already be detailing plans for its next season with tournaments for female teams and players said to be put in motion.
The information came from Dimitri Vallette, Director of International Business Development for the China-based online streaming platform HuoMaoTV, through on of his tweets congratulating WESG for “having female tournaments next season“.

Vallette states that he was able to grab the information through a WeChat chatlog, although other than the info regarding having a Female division, there are no additional details regarding the prize pools and the game lineup.
The World Electronic Sports Games is one of the biggest multi-title cyberathletics meet that invites teams to represent their respective participating countries in contrast to the traditional multi-national team setup that is based on competitive regions. The tournament is backed by the Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba, and featured an aggregated prize pool of USD 3.7 Million spread across 4 different gaming titles namely, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II, and Hearthstone.
Note that while the information is leaked, we are still awaiting any official word from the WESG management as to what the official status of their next season is and if a female division tournament will actually be included.
