Twitter’s next Esports venture will be livestreaming Dreamhack and ESL events
The social media platform leans towards more Esports as it teams up with ESL and Dreamhack.
Esports fans on Twitter may soon enjoy Electronic Sports entertainment without leaving the boundaries of the social media website as a new partnership will be bringing tournaments from Dreamhack and ESL to the platform via live streaming.
Announced earlier this week, the partnership will look to broadcast 15 or so tournaments held under the Dreamhack and ESL brand, one of which includes the ESL sanctioned, Intel-sponsored event, the Intel Extreme Masters which will go live on Twitter tomorrow, March 4, 2017.
With this deal, Esports fans on Twitter can hope to watch tournaments such as Dreamhack’ Summer and Winter open, and ESL’s ESL One Cologne which will happen this coming July 2017. While a major move, this was not the first time Twitter has engaged in Esports for they have also provided broadcast for ELEAGUE’s Counter Strike Global Offensive tournament last 2016.
