The WESG champion secures their second Valve event appearance after defeating fellow Pinoy team Mineski in a very exciting Best of 3 series.

Exciting plays, back and forth fights and one winner, the Filipino favorites TNC Pro Team Dota 2 punches in their tickets to Valve’s Kiev Major after defeating fellow Filipino team Mineski Dota in a grueling best of 3 series for the final slot of the South East Asian qualifier series.

Coming off as the second seed of the SEA Qualifier playoffs, the journey was never easy for TNC as they faced off against team Faceless during the first round, eventually losing 2-1 against the Singapore-based squad led by the immortal Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang. Earlier today in Day 2, TNC also faced tough competition as Clutch Gamers bagged the first win in their Best of 3 series in the loser’s bracket but TNC pulled through and ended their series in style, reverse sweeping Clutch in a very dominant fashion.

The final series was the Esports version of the “Manila Clasico” with both TNC and Mineski always in a rivalry as to who really is the best team in the Philippine pro scene, not to mention that one of TNC‘s players, Carlo “Kuku” Palad formerly played for Mineski and had a somewhat ‘controversial’ exit before landing on the TNC home base.

TNC and Mineski‘s Best of 3 series became a back-and-forth battle, with the former securing game 1 and the latter bouncing back in game 2, complete with over the top, and even questionable plays especially from Mineski which includes Ryan Jay “Bimbo” Qui’s solo-man dives and Julius “Julz” De Leon missing a couple of important Shallow Grave casts on his Dazzle, in Dota 2, the Shallow Grave is an ability which prevents any lethal damage from killing your ally for a span of a few seconds so missing on your timing and even placing the buff on the wrong hero or even unit really is a costly mistake most of the time.

Tied up 1-1 and expecting another great matchup after a very exciting game 2, TNC Pro Team went on to establish that they are the better team this time, outplaying Mineski from the early to finish, with TNC‘s carry player Marco Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto wrapping the game with a BEYOND GODLIKE kill streak with 11 kills and 0 deaths.

TNC Pro Team will join Team Faceless as the South East Asian representatives for the Kiev Major happening during the latter part of April 2017, for now, the Filipino squad will have to face another battle, and that is securing a Visa for Ukraine, which can become twice as hard than securing a US Visa since the Philippines does not have a Ukrainian embassy and the players will reportedly have to fly to Japan for the Visa processing.
