So someone recreated Pokemon Red in Minecraft, which is playable in a functioning Gameboy Color
It’s a complete recreation, as in a “you will encounter MISSINGNO in it” complete.
Is there anything that can’t be created in Minecraft? Well after the Mines of Moria, the whole city of Shanghai, China, Game of Thrones’ King’s Landing and a 16-bit Computer received their own Minecraft versions, that question is put to the test once again, this time in the form of one of the most iconic video game titles of all time, Pokemon Red.
The ultimate sandbox title enters video game inception this time as creator Magib1, a.k.a Mr. Squishy, has finally completed his 15-month project of porting the whole Pokemon Red video game, complete with a functioning GameBoy Color using the power of pixelated blocks. The most notable thing about this project though is that it reportedly didn’t use any mods, but rather Minecraft’s very own command blocks which can be programmed to provide different functions, depending on how you lay them out like circuitry of course.
The map, as it is technically called, can be downloaded through the official Minecraft forums, although Mr. Squishy does warn that it will come with its own bugs and urged users to backup their files and saves just in case.
