Offers discounts, rewards and even actual Razer products.

From computer peripherals, a competitive platform, and instant messaging, the tech brand Razer introduces a new line of service aimed at distributing digital goods such as in-game items for MMO titles using their very own digital currency.

Called the Razer zVault, players can use the service to purchase items from partnered games such as SMITE and CrossFire at discounted prices using the currencies, zGold and zSilver, and even go as far as purchasing Steam titles through the third party distributor, IndieGala.

But why use Razer’s virtual currency when you can just pay for goods using Credit Card or PayPal? Well, first, there’s the discounted price and second the rewards system, in which each time you top up your virtual Razer currency, the zGold, you get to earn zSilver which you can use to redeem Razer products which include the Kraken 7.1 V2 headset and the Blackwidow Chroma Edition mechanical keyboard.

Players can now try and use Razer’s virtual currency system simply by logging in or creating their accounts at zVault.Razerzone.com, note that in order to purchase zGold you will still need to pay using a Credit Card but hey, what’s the extra hassle when you can purchase stuff at discounted prices and earn those zSilvers to exchange for some sweet Razer gear? The game partner lineup is a little limited although news is that Razer plans to add more games that will soon utilize the zVault system sometime soon.
