The YouTube star finds himself in the middle of trouble, this time from one of his content creation partners.

While edgy jokes and racial references have become a little too common in YouTube videos, there are those who obviously cross the line and this time, it will come from non-other than YouTube’s biggest star, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, more popularly known as “PewDiePie”.

In a report by the Wall Street Journal, a video, which is now deleted, originally uploaded back on Jan 11, has caused PewDiePie a deal with Maker Studios, now a subsidiary of Disney, over what was described as anti-semitic joke and Nazi imagery through a clip which showed 2 Indian men holding up a “Death to all Jews” sign. In addition to the Jan 11 video, WSJ also points out that there are 2 other videos, one uploaded on Jan 17 and the other on Jan 22, which also featured Nazi imagery, with one described to have a man dressed up as Jesus Christ and saying “Hitler did nothing wrong”.

While PewDewPie, and the involved Indian men who turn out to be freelancers who call themselves “Funny Duo”, have issued apology video, both have received sanctions, one being a ban from Fiverr, the website where PewDiePie hired Funny Duo, and the other from Maker Studios, which was aimed towards PewDewPie severing their ties with the YouTube star.

PewDewPie’s partnership with Maker Studios includes the entertainment hub Revelmode where PewDewPie and his friends can create additional content such as Video Games, one of which was the mobile title Tuber Simulator.

PewDewPie’s popularity hit a new all-time high just recently after surpassing the 50-million subscriber mark after a joke wherein he threatened to delete his YouTube channel once it hits such mark, and is considered as one of the most successful video content creator on the video sharing platform as he is earning millions of dollars off creating videos. Him being under the bad light on a very touchy subject, and on a major one this time, has once again sparked debates and heated arguments relating to Gaming and Gamer behavior.
