You can soon buy games on Twitch as they announce move to integrate Digital Distribution
Why just watch games when you can also buy them?
The online video live streaming giant Twitch has just revealed their plans of doing Digital Distribution for the titles that are streamed by streamers on their platform. Revealed via blog post, the new service will be launching later this year and offers revenue sharing for its partner streamers provided that you buy the game through their channel.
In addition to buying the game’s digital version, and giving 5% of the revenue to the partnered streamer, Twitch purchasers will also be getting other digital goodies through a loot crate which will include Twitch emotes, chat badges and other random goods.
Together with this move, Twitch has also created partnerships with multiple game development and publishing studios which games will soon be available for purchase on the platform with names like Ubisoft, Telltale Games, Hi-Rez Studios and Paradox Entertainment being listed.
Twitch will soon be releasing more information regarding their new plan to distribute games, such as how it will actually work and how streamer partners can opt to earn revenue through this program in the coming weeks, whereas the service is slated for launch this Spring 2017
