University of the Philippines Gaming Guild hosts Dota 2 tournament for UAAP schools
Pro Dota goes major once again in for Philippine Universities.
The University of the Philippines Gaming Guild, or UPGG, has just announced that they will be hosting an Intercollegiate professional Esports league for Dota 2 titled Impetus 2017.
Inviting schools that are part of the Univesity Athletic Association of the Philippines, Impetus 2017 will hope to feature teams from 8 institutions, the University of the Philippines, Ateneo De Manila University, University of the East, Adamson University, Far Eastern University and National University, to compete for the lion’s share of the PHP 50,000 prize pool.
Impetus 2017 will also hope to recapture the success of previously held Intercollegiate Esports tournaments in the Philippines, namely Mineski’s National Collegiate Cyberleague, TNC’s Student’s League, and Garena Philippines, League of Legends Collegiate League.
The qualifiers for Impetus 2017 will start this March 2017 for the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus and will run up until June 2017 with the main event group stage and finals to presumably happen in July-Aug 2017.
More information regardin the next qualifier dates and schools will be announced by Impetus at a later date.
