ELEAGUE hosts USD 250,000 Street Fighter V invitational complete with Cable TV broadcast

This is probably the biggest thing to happen to Street Fighter V to date.

ELEAGUE, the organizing body behind the televised ELEAGUE Major for Counter Strike Global Offensive has just added Fighting Games to their list of tournament titles as they host a Street Fighter V Invitational tournament with a USD 250,000 prize pool.

Happening this coming March, the ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational will invite 32 of the world’s best SFV players in a total 6-day brawl with the preliminaries, Fight Night groups and main event happening at separate dates all broadcasted via Twitch with the Fight Night and Grand Final events to be broadcasted on cable via TBS.

Of the 32 invited pros, 16 of them will hail from the current top 16 players in the CAPCOM Pro Tour Rankings which currently include Lee “Infiltration“Seon-woo, Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi, Justin “JWong” Wong, and the beast himself Daigo “Daigo” Umehara among others.

The ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational will take place at the ELEAGUE Studio in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and will kick off its preliminary stages this coming March 27, which will run up until the 30th, and the Fight Night phase in April 7, April 21, May 5 and May 12 respectively, while the Playoffs and the Finals match to take place this coming May 26. Live broadcast of the event will be done via the official ELEAGUE Twitch channel, TBS or the Turner Broadcasting System, ELEAGUE’s broadcast partner, is owned by media giant Time Warner, it can be remembered that the ELEGUE Major for CS:GO was watchable in the Philippines via truTV and Warner TV on the following channels:
