Lenovo enters the gaming market through their new Legion sub-brand.

From mobile devices to workstation laptops, Lenovo enters the video game market as they unveil their gaming-tier sub-brand named “Legion” with new NVIDIA GeForce 10-Series powered devices at the centerpiece.

At the center of the Philippines launch event sits the new Lenovo Legion Y520 notebook which comes powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GPU with 8GB of DDR4 Memory sitting inside a 15.6 screen-sized frame. Dubbed as their entry level gaming-laptop, the Y520 will also come with a GeForce GTX 1050ti version albeit only the former is previewed during their launch event.

Together with the Y520, Lenovo also brings the Legion Y910 notebook, although this one only comes with a GeForce GTX 1070 and a 6th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor, perhaps what’s interesting about the Y910 though is that it is said to come with a custom mechanical keyboard in a surprisingly thin frame compared to other mechanical keyboard equipped laptops which often come in bulky bodies due to the size of the switches.

Both devices will come with Dolby tech powered audio through its Harman certified speakers and as well as the Nerve Sense software which serves as the central control center for personalization and system tweaks. The Nerve Sense will allow users to control aspects such as lighting, touchpad functions, boosts for gaming, or the “game mode”, and even cooling.

Apart from the Notebooks, the Legion product lineup for the Philippines will also include a precision gaming mouse and a mechanical keyboard, together with the Lenovo Y27g curved monitor which boasts a 144hz refresh rate, 1080p native resolution, and NVIDIA’s G-Sync tech inside a 27-inch VA panel.
