Facebook live becomes another platform for playing Pokemon
If you recall about 2 years ago, popular live streaming platform, Twitch challenged its viewers to play and finish the 1996 global hit Pokemon Red through the use of emulators whose commands are made by sending a message through the Twitch chat in the official Twitch Plays Pokemon channel. Now, another livestreaming platform, Facebook Live hopes to repeat that feat with Pokemon Silver, albeit this time, it will run on the Facebook page of Player.me, a gaming centered social media platform which got acquired by Xsplit back in July.
The control schemes are changed as Facebook Live’s pseudo messaging comes in the form of Post Comments and viewers who wish to participate in this live event can use the new Facebook React buttons to input the in-game commands. The stream has been running for about an hour now, with only a handful of viewers watching and participating, but even so it’s still stuck trying to get out of the house and push on with its adventure to collect them all.
You can catch up on the fun and participate in the chaos by checking out the official livestream over at Player.me’s Facebook fanpage.
