To which we ask “why tho?”

The mobile and web game match 3 puzzler by King, Candy Crush is revealed to get its own TV show adaptation through the way of American cable company CBS. The game, which is considered as one of the most successful examples of the Freemium marketing model, is one of the highest grossing titles in the mobile platform with an estimated daily revenue of  USD 415, 126 according to ThinkGaming’s charts.

The planned hour-long TV show is bound to become a live-action Candy Crush competition with 2 players running on a Candy Crush themed obstacle course featuring various levels. The show is going to be produced together with Lionsgate Entertainment, producers of shows and films such as Mad Men, and the The Hunger Games and Divergent movie franchises.

There is no info yet as to when the air-date of the Candy Crush Saga TV show will be, although it is reported that a Candy Crush arena is already under construction.
