Pacific Wara wins CrossFire Stars 2016 Philippine Finals after gut-wrenching Bo5 against TNC Pro Team FPS
And October 2016, a new Manila Clasico is born.
A new Manila Clasico was born last October 14, 2016 when team Pacific Wara faced of team TNC Pro Team FPS in the Best of 5 CrossFire Stars 2016 Philippine National Finals, with USD 10,000 on the line and as well as the right to represent the Philippines in the world championships this December.
While TNC was off to a not so good start after being first defeated by Pacific Wara in the Upper Group of the Double Elimination bracket due to technicality, the boys in orange manage to redeem themselves and sweeping off the young bloods of team Reborn GT in a 2-0 victory in order to gain another shot at the National Title.
A much more composed TNC faced off Pacific Wara in the finals, with the team heavily punishing Wara’s aggressiveness in Match 1 at Ankara and gaining the early lead, Pacific claimed the second match however, while still continuing on the aggressive stance, albeit exercising a little more patience, with multiple triple frags by Bxm4c, Poy and Zarren helping Wara gain the lead. Pacific Wara‘s momentum will continue on the 3rd Map, Port, although TNC will tie the score 2-2 as they win Map 4 which was Sub Base. and force a game 5.
The final Match, which was set at Mexico, was suddenly interrupted right at the beginning of the 5th round due to technical issues, which in turn increased the tension as both teams are already going back and forth throughout the first half. The back and forth battle continued as soon as the match resumed, and while TNC put up a very good fight, Wara‘s clutch proved to be more than enough to handle as the latter finally secures the match, and in turn secures the CrossFire Stars 2016 Philippine Championship Title.
