Hi-Rez reveal RTS adaptation to their MOBA title SMITE
From RTS to MOBA, and now back to RTS.
Hi-Rez Studios, the name behind the MOBA title SMITE, reveals that they are now currently working on an RTS adaptation to their MOBA game called SMITE Tactics.
Still built within the SMITE universe, which is largely a unified world of different mythological pantheons such as the Greek and Egyptian, SMITE Tactics core gameplay is described as players “carefully choosing which minions to deploy in the battlefield and which gods will lead them” with the armies to be built before the actual battle using a collectible card system.
Each chosen army leaders, or Gods, will also have their own unique set of abilities for players to use during the course of the battle, and different adventure modes will also be made available when playing against AI. As SMITE has grown to become an Esports, Hi-Rez may also have plans for SMITE Tactics to become an Esport of its own as they also include Ranked matches for Competitive 1-on-1.
SMITE Tactics is set to release sometime next year, with the Closed Beta Phase to begin later this 2016, pre-registration for the CBT is also ongoing, and interested players can just head on to SMITETactics.com for a chance to secure a CBT invite.
