Dota 2’s Fall 2016 Battle Pass will include Valve’s new documentary called True Sight
Cool story bro but where’s Diretide?
Cosmetics will not be the only freebie that players can collect with the Dota 2 Fall 2016 Battle Pass as Valve reveals a new mini-movie addition, currently limited to Battle Pass owners, titled True Sight. Definitely not the first for Dota 2 as Valve first released a similar film titled Free to Play back in 2014, True Sight will follow the life of teams and players to “lift the fog on the process of building a top-tier Dota team“.
In the aftermath of The International, each player and team must face the difficult challenge of committing to a tournament roster for the next season’s push towards competitive glory, all searching for the elusive combination of talent and chemistry that can carry a group of five individuals to the pinnacle of professional Dota—to stand as the winning team at a Dota 2 Major Championship.
This season, lift the fog on the process of building a top-tier Dota team with True Sight, a new documentary series that takes you behind the scenes of the journeys of professional teams.
The Dota 2 professional scene has long been filled with issues, controversy and drama especially during the “Roster Shuffle” phase where even teams who have stayed the longest throughout each competitive season suddenly break apart and once internal issues come to light in lieu of the player trades.
True Sight will be a 5-episode documentary with the first one, featuring teams Evil Geniuses and Fnatic, to go live this Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM PDT* via livestream within the Dota 2 client.
While True Sight will be made available for Fall 2016 Battle Pass users for later viewing in their Steam libraries, no information has been given yet if it will also be made available for non-Battle Pass purchasers via other media distribution platforms.
The Battle Pass is Valve’s current seasonal purchasable add-on, made available during their Major tournaments, and grants users access to limited time cosmetics such as hero sets, emotes, terrain designs, pets, weather effects and more.
*- Could be affected by Valve Time.
