Looks like you don’t need to purchase new motherboards just to upgrade to Intel’s new 7th Generation CPUs.

The ongoing buzz around the 7th Generation Intel Core Processors, dubbed Kaby Lake, is also making manufacturers produce new Motherboard models that will soon support Intel’s 14 nanometer computer processor in time of its retail release. As for Taiwan based ASRock, you may not need to purchase a new motherboard model just to upgrade to Kaby Lake, that is if you own any of their select Z170, H170, B150 and H110 models as you would need to only perform a BIOS update to prepare your computer for Kaby Lake support.

A total of 21 motherboard models will be receiving the BIOS update and ASRock has already put up download links on their official website.

Intel’s new 7th Generation Kaby Lake processor succeeds the 2015-revealed Skylake microarchitecture and features a more improved graphics support, being able to handle 4K resolution media and as well as native USB 3.1 support. The 7th Generation Intel Kaby Lake processor is expected for commercial release sometime before the end of this year.
