Square Enix reveals another mobile title called Guardian Codex
The follow up to Guardian Cross is coming this Fall for both Android and iOS.
Yet another mobile game titles is announced by Square Enix, but in contrast to last time, it will not be part of the Final Fantasy franchise, but rather a follow up to their another mobile hit. Named Guardian Codex, their new mobile game will be a follow up to Guardian Cross whose gameplay is divided between card game elements and first person shooter mechanics depending on the game mode.
The announcement trailer reveals much of the gameplay which features near-console like graphics, and gigantic opponents in what seems to be a turn-based style combat. It can be remembered that Square Enix was planning to bring “AAA” level graphics and gameplay for mobile with their starting point being Mobius Final Fantasy which was just released globally last month.
The pre-registration campaign for Guardian Codex is now ongoing and its tier rewards include Codex Credits which can be used to summon characters in the game. Guardian Codex is set for release on both the iOS and Android devices this Fall 2016 and is largely presumed to enter a global release rather than initially staying within Japan.
