Sony readies the new PS4 Slim for launch early this month
All systems (almost) go.
The much talked about PlayStation 4 Slim version is officially announced, and given a launch tag by Sony after weeks of churning the rumor mill after it’s initial leak a few weeks ago. Now the second PS4 iteration that is revealed by Sony right after the Pro (formerly called “Neo”), the Slim is described to a much more power efficient system, 30% smaller than the original PS4 model and will become the “standard” PS4 version once it is launched.
The official announcement may not be already totally new to consumers as multiple instances of people already getting their hands of the product have surfaced online, with some even sharing photos, videos and going as far as taking it apart to see what’s inside.
The PlayStation 4 Slim system is slated for release this coming September 15, 2016 and bears a USD 299 price tag, albeit it may not be available worldwide right away, as the release is currently set to “most markets”.
