Niantic officially confirms Pokemon GO’s upcoming Buddy System
They’re also saying that you should definitely get out there and take a hike.
Walking around with your Pokemon GO App would not just be all about hunting for Pokemon or hatching eggs as the datamined “Buddy System” is officially confirmed by Niantic.
In their recent Facebook announcement, the Buddy System is set to come with the next update of Pokemon GO and will help open up “unique in-game rewards and experiences” with its highlight feature being earning Pokemon candy while exploring the world with your chosen Buddy Pokemon.
As every Pokemon player knows, Pokemon Candies are used to evolve your Pokemons and is usually obtained by either catching new ones or by sending them to Professor Willow. This new feature will also mean more walking so you’d better have your Pokemon Traverse kit on the ready which usually includes a Pocket WiFi (in case you’re not keen on using your own Mobile Data), and extra Batteries or Power Banks.
The Buddy System is expected to go live in Pokemon GO’s next version update which we expect to arrive sometime this month.
