And so, the Finals begin.

The young blood from China, Wings Gaming, who made the news this year by winning premiere tournaments such as ESL One Manila 2016 and The Summit 5 will once be part of the headlines once again as they secure the Grand Finals slot for The International Dota 2 Championships 2016.

For a team whose players started out as fans of other Chinese Dota 2 pros back in the years, Wings has done a very incredible feat at their second attempt at TI after losing in the Main Qualifiers last year, ending only in 4th place after losing to Energy Pacemaker.

Right now it is Wings turn to have fans of their own as the young Chinese squad defeated defending Champions Evil Geniuses in the Upper Bracket Finals with a 2-0 sweep. Wings had took on a completely different form in the series as they stage a close battle against the defending champions with picks such as the Game 1 wombo-combo teamfight lineup consisting of Enigma, Tidehunter and the Timbersaw, and a game 2 that featured Huskar and Medusa.

A 3 Man Blackhole from iceice seals the deal for Wings on Game 1.

Evil Geniuses will have another shot at their TI title defense in the last day of the The International 2016 if they defeat Digital Chaos who has recently claimed part of the Top 3 after winning against Fnatic, 2-0.
