TI6 Groupstage: Fnatic still struggling in Day 2, Liquid surpasses MVP while EHOME claims top spot for Group B
EHOME is staging a return of the king in TI6 while Fnatic is still struggling to find their groove as the Day 2 matches for Group B ends.
Fnatic Dota 2 continues to struggle to find their groove closing Day 2 for Group B with only 1 series win against Team Secret (2-0), while losing to both Liquid (0-2) and Newbee (0-2). The squad hailing from Malaysia who made their way to TI6 through the South East Asian Qualifiers stays at the bottom point of their group and is in direct danger of ending in the Lower Bracket of the Main Event unless things can miraculously turn their way on Day 3 later tonight.
While tailing closely behind Digital Chaos on Day 1, EHOME has finally landed on the Top 1 rank for Group B closing their day with a perfect win streak against Newbee (2-0), Secret (2-0) and MVP Phoenix (2-0). The team that was formerly deemed as “the king” after their amazing 10-tournament-win streak back in 2010, the prime days of Defense of the Ancients, is set for an underdog story after fighting their way from the Chinese Qualifiers and the Wildcard tournament.
On the other hand, Team Liquid has finally seen the hopes of an upper bracket seed, surpassing MVP Phoenix (1-1) to sit at spot #4 for Group B, even though the team has suffered their series lost against ViCi Gaming Reborn (0-2), Liquid will not go down without putting up a show particularly from their famed support player JerAx, who has once again shown exceptional moves on the Rubick.
Former group lead Digital Chaos will end on Top 2 today defeating Secret (2-0) and Newbee (2-0) and tieing a series with VG Reborn (1-1), while MVP, VG Reborn, Secret and Fnatic will settle for the bottom 4, with the latter 2 in direct danger of ending on the Lower Bracket Playoff seed.
