Outlast 2 delayed until 2017
The sequel to the cult horror hit is moved for another year as developer does not wish to compromise game experience.
Fans of Red Barrels’ survival horror hit title Outlast, which became the subject of numerous video content creators and critics for its take on the horror gameplay, will have to wait for more or less one more year (or at least a few months more) before seeing a sequel.
This after a statement from Red Barrels’ Facebook fanpage revealed that the developer is looking to extend the development period to ensure that they deliver “the best, most terrifying, most fulfilling experiences possible” for the game’s loyal fans.
Red Barrels also adds that this was not the type of news that they want to deliver to those who are anticipating Outlast 2’s release but was made to do after weighing all their options. Outlast was first released for the PC platform last September 2013, and revolves around freelance journalist Miles Upshur, who tries to uncover the mystery of a mysterious mental asylum. The game was well received by numerous critics, who applauded the title for being a great example of how a horror survival game should be like, the game’s sequel, Outlast 2 is now set for release this coming 1st quarter of 2017.
