Forev is not leaving MVP Phoenix (yet)
Amidst the ongoing rumors, the MVP management clarifies that Forev is not leaving the team…yet.
News broke out earlier this week that MVP Phoenix‘s offlaner Lee “Forev” Sang-don leaving the team following his tweet stating that his “journey gonna be done with team mvp” after 3 years of being part of the Korean squad.
Ending Ti6) My journey gonna be done with team mvp. It’s been 3years.

However, Felix Jedelhauser, current manager of team MVP clarifies that Forev hasn’t left the team yet and in fact there are still ongoing negotiations for contract renewal for Forev.

Furthermore, it seems that not only Forev‘s contract is under negotiation, as the rest of the current MVP Phoenix squad is said to have their contracts last only after TI6 meaning that the players can be considered as “free agents” for the time being while negotiations are still ongoing. This notion is further clarified by Korean Dota 2 Commentator Samqua’s micro-interview with Forev regarding the state of the current roster and his Dota 2 journey.
Forev also mentioned that the team is getting offers from other organizations, and that he is looking forward to playing with his teammates again, regardless of what organization they may be part of, Forev also reminds everyone that he plans to “decide on the best offer within 2 or 3 weeks” while assuring everyone that the “priority is having the five members to stick together“.
MVP Phoenix have come a long way in their Dota 2 journey from clinching 7th-8th Place in TI5, winning the Dota 2 Pit League Season 4 and WePlay Dota 2 League Season 3 titles, and, just recently, finishing 5th-6th place in TI6.
