Brief moments from Dragon Nest SEA’s Fie5ta @ Manila
We took a sneak peak at Dragon Nest SEA’s 5th Anniversary Celebration mini-con.
Not even the heavy downpour will stop Cherry Credits last Saturday, August 13, 2016 as they host their gaming event, Fie5ta @ Manila as part of celebrating Dragon Nest SEA’s 5th year anniversary. Held on the event area of Atrium, Fisher Mall, Quezon City, the event was much more focused on the game’s current playerbase with activities composed of meet & greet sessions, photo opportunities for Dragon Nest cosplayers, and an auction that featured rare in-game items, plushies, and an Nendoroid figure from one of the game’s most iconic NPC, Irene.
The registration booth welcomes attendees with a mini-game of chance, which awards players by performing a simple task dictated by the roulette such as taking a photo with the guests, or telling your Social Media friends that you are attending the event and about to win a prize. Attendees are also asked to register as to gain their numbers for the auction which will happen on the latter part of the event and entries to the raffle segments.
Although we were not able to catch up on the Developer Q&A Session due to the heavy rains which started from noon and went all throughout the afternoon, we still had a good glimpse of how the event went, which was largely composed of the item auction, raffles and a dance number from DN SEA Cosplay guests aside. Not all awarded items are game exclusive though as Monster Energy also gave out merchandise of their own such as shirts, caps, lanyards, and of course, free drinks.
Given its small venue, a few common game-con inclusions such as PCs or Play areas were absent from the event which in turn resulted in a very exclusive community atmosphere as non-players would have next to zero way of watching how the game is actually played , nevertheless, the event still turned out to be well received by its attendees who braved the rain just to be there.
Dragon Nest is a fantasy MMORPG originally developed by Eyedentity and is published here in South East Asia by Cherry Credits. First launched in 2010, the game highlights its non-targeting and dungeon style combat and a PVP that relies heavily on player skill rather than on levels and items. The game launched its South East Asian Open Beta phase last August 2011, and has since then grown through updates, with now featuring 8 different character classes, the level cap raised to 80 and as well as new dungeon and nest areas.
