2GD opens up Kickstarter campaign for Diabotical
James just got himself fired…up for a new video game project.
Popularity Dota 2 personality James “2GD” Harding, who became more well known after a certain issue between him and Valve’s big boss, Gabe Newell during the Shanghai Major, a prestigious Dota 2 tournament sponsored by Valve, has just opened up the Kickstarter campaign for the GD Studio project called Diabotical.
Set as a fast-paced multiplayer FPS, Harding, together with the rest of the GD Studio squad, draws inspiration from other popular fast-paced FPS titles like Quake and Unreal Tournament for Diabotical and promises to “enhance the best bits of the genre, infuse it with fresh personality” in order to bring “full range of well-needed supporting features”.
The GD Studio also plans for Diabotical to go pro competitive, and aims to add features such as in-game tournament management, ranked matchmaking on Day 1. The game will also open up to the modding community, going as far as laying a pipeline for modders and community creators.
Diabotical is aiming for a funding goal of £110,000, and is expected for release on Steam this coming December 2016. For those who want to support the GD Studio’s project, you can head on to the Diabotical Kickstarter page.
