Twitter ventures into Esports livestreaming with ELEAGUE
Social Media is already starting to become the newest platform for Video Games and Livestreaming as social giant Twitter reveals plans for live video coverage of the ongoing ELEAGUE.
Esports is really achieving new heights as it goes from Online streams, to Traditional Media, and now Social Media, following Facebook’s entry into the Livestreaming arena, going head to head against video content giants such as Twitch and YouTube, the 140 character counterpart to Facebook that is Twitter has just recently revealed plans of tackling video game livestreaming through its planned broadcast of the ELEAGUE Counter Strike Global Offensive Finals.
Known as the first professional Counter Strike: Global Offensive pro tournament to be featured on live Television with its live matches shown via TBS, the ELEAGUE is hoping to grant Twitter a share of its near-half-million number of viewers and further expanding the tournament’s online reach. Twitter will start streaming ELEAGUE on its Semi-finals event this coming July 30, Saturday 5:00 AM PHT, and the finals match this July 31, Sunday, 4:00 AM PHT.
The ELEAGUE Counter Strike Global Offensive series Season 1 semifinals match will be played between team Natus Vincere versus Fnatic and mousesports versus Virtus.pro.
